Max and Robert Bauer
Max Bauer is 9 years old and raises money with his fiddle for the IWK by busking at the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market. To date, he has donated more than $2,000 dollars to IWK and also supports several other charities. When asked why he has been donating to the IWK since the very first time he played at the market, he said that it is because he remembers when he was a kid and was there as a patient with croup and liked that there were toys to play with, so he wishes for other kids to have toys and other things to make them happy when they are sick.
Besides playing the fiddle, Max is a “straight A” student, a first class honour piano player, valuable striker in his academy soccer team, avid gamer, takes part in choir, art lessons, chess club, basketball and any type of sport that requires one to be dragged behind the power boat.
Robert Bauer is Max’s dad and also plays the violin and piano. He is in a local band and occasionally plays with Nova Symphonia. Robert is a professor in Mechanical Engineering at Dalhousie University, enjoys composing music, and dragging Max behind the power boat.
